Ringing in the new year
December 31, 2008
Tonight is pretty quiet for us. The girls went to bed like champs and we are enjoying a nice evening with a fire in the fireplace and a good movie to watch. We are watching The Notebook. It’s such a sweet love story. I also worked the world’s smallest 1000 piece puzzle while we watched.
It’s not finished yet, but it’s been fun to work. I like it because of it’s size. It’s easy to get out and work and then put back away so I don’t have to have so much help with it when the girls are awake. The finished puzzle measures 16.5″x11.7″ when it’s complete!
We are very excited to see what 2009 has in store for our family. I hope it’s a wonderful year full of fun and laughter. Many people use the start of a new year to make resolutions and life changes. A new year, like a new baby is full of promise. We have no idea what our future holds, but it’s nice to know we are never alone in our journey through it. I recently heard a quote that really stuck in my head. There are several versions of the same idea, so I’ll post two of them. I think it’s a wonderful way to approach the new year standing before us.
Not sure who wrote this version:
When you come to the edge of all you know
You must believe one of two things;
You will be given Earth on which to stand
Or you will be given wings.
This one is quoted to Patrick Overton:
When we walk to the edge of all the light we have and take the step into the darkness of the unknown, we must believe that one of two things will happen. There will be something solid for us to stand on or we will be taught to fly.
Happy New Year!
