Hugs and Kisses

Before we had kids I heard this idea and tucked it away for when we would one day need it. Now that our girls are a bit older I pulled this one out. When my husband goes out of town or the country, with the military, our girls have such a hard time adjusting. They also don’t quite have the concept of time down yet. They do understand candy though! So when my husband went out of the country for 3 weeks we got some Hershey Hugs and Kisses. Each girl got a bowl filled with one Hug and one Kiss for each day he was gone. They enjoyed knowing they were getting hugs and kisses from him even though he wasn’t home. As the bowls got more and more empty, they understood it was closer to when Daddy was coming home. Once the bowl was empty, he was back. It worked like a charm for us to count down the days. This would work well for short business trips also. I think this worked so well, we will definitely do this again!
