Ahhh, The Smell of Fall
September 25, 2008
This evening as I was getting ready to go scrapbook, our girls came in from the backyard to tell me goodbye. As I picked each one up, I could tell Fall is here. It was the first time this year that they had the tell-tale smell of Fall on them. You know that smell…it’s the special smell that kids get when they go outside to play in that fresh, crisp air. I’m not sure what it is about that air that makes kids Fall scented. It’s not a scent that one can describe, but once you’ve smelled it, you will remember it forever. It’s one of the smells of youth, a musky mixture of sweat and leaves. Maybe Yankee Candle can make that scent one day. Anyway, today my kids smelled of Autumn and it’s one of my favorite things about this season. Strange as it may be, this is the official start of Fall in my world.

I love your new blog, Sissy!
I like your idea for a Yankee Candle smell, but thought it was funny considering the way Katie used to scream whenever we came within 10 feet of the store!
Personally, I’m not a fan of the outside smell. But maybe I need to breathe my sweet nieces instead of my stinky husband!
