about me

Hi, I’m Meredith and I’m so glad you are here at My Magic Mom!

I’m guessing you are here because you want to know a bit more about me.

I know a little bit about a lot of different things, but I’m not much of an expert in any of them.

I am married to a wonderful man (he even does the dishes!) and we have 3 amazing girls. Although they are our pride and joy and we can’t imagine life without them. They are all in elementary school these days, so I can take a shower without interruptions, but I still haven’t gotten used to the quiet house.

In addition to family time, I enjoy sewing, crafting, decorating, painting, drawing and cooking.

I have Multiple Sclerosis and I recently learned my body is not a fan of gluten.

I don’t enjoy cleaning and I rarely complete what I start. We all have areas we need to improve, right?

I have dreams of writing a novel one day. I have ideas swirling in my head all the time. I need to get them out.

You can find just about anything on my blog that deals with any of the above topics.

Why My Magic Mom?

One day while waiting on the doctor to come into the exam room, our oldest daughter asked me to use my magic to make him show up. I explained to her that I didn’t have any magical powers and she argued with me about it, continuing to ask me to use my mommy magic. She then gave me examples of how I know magic…once I made a burrito appear when she was hungry for more, I could magically make play doh out of flour and water, and I always knew a new song to sing to her to make her feel better, etc. How was I to argue with such great logic? So now she was asking me to use my magical powers again and make the doctor show up. So I said we would count to 100 and the doctor would be there before we finished. We got to 78 and he appeared. The mommy magic worked again. I then thought about how many times my own mother had magical abilities also. All moms have those magical moments with their children. So this blog is dedicated to magic moms everywhere, but you don’t have to be a mom to hang around.
