My laptop is back and good as new

Thanks to my wonderful brother in law, my laptop is definitely free of the RealAV virus. I took my laptop to him this weekend and he was able to fix it for me. He backed up all the files I wanted to keep. The photos of our life were the most important. Turns out, he saved everything. Then he wiped my computer and reinstalled Windows XP for me. Woo Hoo! I have my computer back. It’s like my baby computer all over again. Brand spankin’ new. I need to install the programs I had before, but this gives me the chance to install different stuff. I was using Paint Shop Pro and I have Photoshop Elements, so I might as well install it instead and learn how to use it now. Gives me the boost in the butt to get stuff done.
On the trip this weekend to take my computer to the doctor, we had a wonderful time! The girls and I went up on Saturday. We arrived at my their house and handed the infected computer off to G. He got out his toolbox and started the operation. While my sister and I began our visit. Later we met J for dinner since he was staying in town. It was a drill weekend for him. At dinner the server dumped an entire glass of Dr Pepper on poor little E. Luckily, I had a change of clothes in the car for her! After dinner we headed to the hotel. Armed with 3 air mattresses, we blew them up inflated them. M konked out right away while the other two partied for a bit longer. The next morning, J went off to fulfill his duties to the country and we broke camp. AThen we heading back over to retrieve my laptop. Sweet man stayed up until 3 am to finish it for me. Off to the mall we went with my sis, Mel and darling niece. I can’t believe how big she is getting. These last six months sure did fly! My friend Jan and her husband Jeff met us at the mall. It was so fun to see them again! We stopped at Gymboree and did a little shopping. No buying, just looking. I have Gymbucks that I can redeem this week, so I decided to not buy anything in there on Sunday.
My wild children were showing signs of hunger so we all decided to head out for lunch…McDonald’s style. They had an indoor playground calling or names. We stayed there for about 3 hours talking while the girls got out their energy on the slides. We even had time for Jan to teach Mel and I how to knit. More on that later. Before we left, J was finished with drill and met us there too. It was a wonderful afternoon!
It was finally time to head home. Without the RealAV crashing my computer, it probably would have never happened.
